New Pet Owners Cont. Cont. Cont.

Good Morning!  Yesterday I told you all a little about taking care of your new pet cat, dog, or goldfish.  My knowledge expands toward one more pet My family has had, the turtle.  Yes, that turtle is Y.B. who you can look at if you scroll to the photos at the bottom of the page.  He was a quiet guy just like Squeaky Pebbles.  (Learn about Squeaky Pebbles by looking two posts down)  The upside with Y.B. was that you could hold him.  Turtles are fun to watch in their aquariums, too.  We got Y.B. a little staircase that led up to a platform he could stand on and a cave he could hide under.  He often would jump off the platform and into the water which was very entertaining to watch.  You need to clean your turtle's aquarium very frequently (about twice a week is what we did).  Some might have to have their aquarium cleaned every other day.  Make sure your turtle has more than just water in his aquarium.  You can scroll to look at pictures of the things we put in Y.B.'s aquarium.  Having the right water is important.  For Y.B. we mixed estuary water with fresh water.  Make sure to find out what type of water your turtle needs.  I hope this helps!
