New Pet Owners Cont.

Okay, now for us lovely felines!  With some exceptions, like myself and 99.9% of kittens, most cats like alone time.  Your cat will give you signs when he/she wants your attention.  Some of these signs include chronic mewing, scratching you, etc.  Signs your cat wants to play include running up to you, jumping on your lap, and then running away again.  Cats need a lot of love and petting as well.  Believe it or not, we are not as complicated as dogs!  My expertise doesn't expand to rodents and reptiles, but I do know about fish. Squeaky Pebbles was our only fish I was here to see.  He was a simple little guy, a goldfish, whose main hobbies were opening and closing his mouth and staring at me in terror whenever I would walk by his tank.  He loved food, however, fish don't like overfeeding (it is fatal to them).  Sure you can't pet fish or hold them, but they are compatible pets and I'm sure in their hearts, they really love you.  (Bear in mind that goldfish have a memory span of three seconds, so don't give your goldfish any big surprises by appearing too suddenly)  All in all, Squeaky Pebbles was a great addition to the family and we all loved him.  If you have more than four cats, I would not recommend a fish for you.  Instead spend more time with your other pets!!  I hope this helps you!
